The company

Welshdale Due Diligence is a service of Welshdale Consultancy Ltd, registered in England and Wales. Company number and registered office are on the Companies House register, and we would rather you looked us up than took our word for it. The wider firm advises on business consultancy, contract negotiation, commercial disputes and arbitration.

Why we built it

We work in international trade advisory, with long standing commercial relationships across North Africa and the Middle East. Over the years we have watched the same thing repeatedly: capable, solvent businesses spending months and real money on cargoes that were never there, undone not by bad judgement but by having no way to check anything.

The tools that solve this exist. They are built for banks and the largest trading houses, and they are priced accordingly. Nothing serves the companies below that tier. That is the gap this fills.

How we are paid

Per report. We take no commission, no success fee, no finder's fee and no position in any transaction. We do not introduce buyers to sellers and we do not hold anyone's money. Nothing we earn depends on a deal closing, which is why we can tell you when one looks wrong.

Where we have an interest, we say so. Welshdale Consultancy advises on international trade matters, and there will be transactions where we act for one party and are asked to report on another. Where that happens it is disclosed on the face of the report, to both sides, before anyone pays us anything.

What we will not do

• Screen someone who has not agreed to be screened
• Confirm that a cargo, allocation or storage exists, because we have no way to know
• Issue anything that can be waved around as proof a deal is real
• Act as your lawyer
